SOUTHERN STAR FENCING ACADEMY
Discover Southern Star Saber
Southern Star Saber is a saber fencing school serving youth and adults in the Acadiana area.
We offer private instruction for beginning fencers who want to learn the modern Olympic sport of saber in a focused, professional, and welcoming environment. Our deliberately small and intimate training model allows each student to receive direct coaching and progress according to individual ability, experience, and goals. Lessons combine footwork, blade technique, distance control, tactics, athletic development, and the decision-making skills that make saber such a fast and compelling sport.
Students are not expected to arrive athletic, coordinated, or already familiar with fencing. They are expected to arrive willing to listen, work, and learn.
Some students may eventually choose to compete. Others may fence for fitness, recreation, personal challenge, or simply because learning swordsmanship is tremendously fun. ALL paths are welcome.
We take fencing seriously without losing the joy that attracts people to the sport in the first place.
